Adelaide UNESCO City Of Music
Adelaide was awarded a UNESCO City of Music designation and with it membership of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in 2015. The UCCN is a global network of more than 370 cities and works towards the common goal of promoting UNESCO’s guiding principles and ensuring creativity and culture are at the heart of all policy development.
The Adelaide City of Music office (ACOM) is the representative organisation for the UCCN and was established to promote the designation, its benefits, and to celebrate and create opportunities for South Australian artists, organisations, institutions, and music culture across the UCCN and beyond.
This prestigious recognition provides unique global pathways for South Australian music culture.
ACOM is committed to representing South Australia’s diverse music community and culture, sharing its stories, aspirations, and leadership, and building relationships and opportunities around the world.
Being designated a UNESCO City of Music in 2015 was a proud moment for Adelaide and continues to provide a platform to celebrate our success globally.
