10 x 10 Music Video Challenge Returns in 2026

Adelaide City of Music is pleased to spotlight the return of 10×10, a dynamic DIY music video initiative that continues to strengthen collaboration between South Australia’s music and screen communities.

Now entering its fourth year, the project will once again pair ten bands with ten filmmakers to create ten original music videos in a fast-paced, hands-on creative challenge. Designed for emerging artists with a strong independent spirit, 10×10 provides real-world experience, industry mentorship and a platform to share new work with broad audiences.

Participants begin with a workshop led by the Channel 44 team and experienced mentors, including project founder and US music video producer Norwood Cheek. After meeting and forming creative teams, musicians and filmmakers work together over a concentrated production period to plan, shoot and deliver a completed music video.

The finished works will premiere at a public screening party at The Gov on 16 March 2026, featuring live performances from selected participating bands. Following the event, the videos and behind-the-scenes footage will be broadcast on Channel 44 and streamed nationally via CTV+, giving emerging creatives valuable exposure.

ACOM is proud to support this event, with our GM, Joe Hay, sharing insight into global creative industries pathways and the UNESCO Creativity Cities Network.

Initiatives like 10×10 are an important part of Adelaide’s music ecosystem. By connecting artists across disciplines, building practical skills and encouraging bold creative experimentation, the project helps develop sustainable career pathways for young musicians and filmmakers. This cross-industry collaboration is a strong example of the innovation and community spirit that underpin Adelaide’s status as a UNESCO City of Music.
